2022-04-25 SOON DONE Now it’s only the curtains left, they are being shortened by a person who can handle a sewing machine. Later this week we hope the pergola is finished. The “roof” is not exactly what we thought when we ordered it, but it will do for now.

2022-04-23 LOVE THIS TREE It’s flowering so many times a year that I lost count. I have pruned it hard several times and need to continue doing so for a while. But still we get the flowers. So grateful!

2022-04-12 FAMILY TIME ♥️ No Sinus is not ours. He owns everyone, including the lovely couple he lives with. 😺😻So grateful to have been spending time with the whole family this week. Now we flying home to Portugal again.

2022-04-02 LOVE OUR OUTDOOR SPACEThe flower bed is missing flowers and scrubs. The pergola is missing shade sails and curtains. Would you like to sit here and enjoy a meal or Swedish fika? Well we do and we love it! Next image is how it looked last summer. Successful change :)

2022-03-31 FOR THE SMALL ONESHe is not only renovating our house and building a lot of stuff in the garden. He also thinks about the little ones. The small birds that need homes.

2022-03-25 FIGS 🇵🇹I love watching the figs grow. No flowering, the fruits appear at the same time as the first leaf on every branch. The bright green colour lightning up the garden. The rain that we finally got has woken up everything, welcoming all trees and plants to a new season.

2022-03-19 OUTDOOR SHOWER 🇵🇹The sand clouds are gone, the blue sky is back! The temperature has risen and maybe today will be a day to use the outdoor shower for the first time after some sweaty gardening work.

2022-03-16 SANDY LIGHT 🇵🇹And now we also got the sand from Sahara. The air smells strange and it’s red and yellow dust everywhere. But it doesn’t matter, the light is stunning!

2022-03-06 CALLA LILY This is not the lily of peace even if it looks alike. But it is beautiful and it’s growing in my garden. I love it. Zantedeschia aethiopica is the Latin name.

2022-02-26 PORTO COVO I can’t get enough of you. So many times I’ve both visited and stayed, yet just want more. Today another memory created with lovely sunshine, great company and lunch with an ocean view. Soon we will be back again!

2022-02-22 BARRAGEM DO MONTE DA ROCHA Went to this dam this morning to take some photos for tomorrow’s blogpost about the severe drought in Portugal. If you google the name in my heading you can see images of how it should look like.

2022-02-19 EARLY MORNING AWARD 🇵🇹The sheep is also watching the sunrise from their favourite spot on the field. During the Olympics I set the alarm, leaving the bed when it’s dark. This is the reward, and of course the excitement during the games.

2022-02-09 MONTEMOR-O-NOVO 🇵🇹Went to #montemoronovo, walked around in the city and visited the huge castle. Lovely experience. It’s very common in Portugal with swings at view points. This surely is a gem, a place I’ve wanted to see for a long time.

2022-01-28 AZULEJOS OUTDOOR SHOWERSince I love tiles of course I also want some old Portuguese ones in our outdoor shower. Only the water connection and some painting left, then we can enjoy a shower with a view!

2022-01-24 ALMOND BLOSSOM 🇵🇹In the sunset the almond flowers are extra beautiful. I need almond trees on our property. Just imagine a field filled with this blossom.

2022-01-21 FROSTY MORNING IN 🇵🇹We don’t like it but we knew it would come. Hope the lettuce survive. The day temperatures are fabulous though.

2022-01-15 PLANTATIONWe are working on getting the plantations in front of the house done. And the paths. Started to plant some flowering small scrubs today (this photo is from another day). I have no clue what I am doing but it doesn’t matter. I will love every flower and all colours, even if a planting layout probably would been better.

2022-01-08 GLUTEN-FREE LANGOS For the first (but not last!) time I have made #glutenfree #langos. Never done langos at all before but enjoyed this Hungarian dish several years ago. Found seaweed caviar at IKEA. What a lovely lunch we had and we can look forward to tomorrows also since there’s enough dough for another meal! #todayslunch

2021-12-25 PORTO COVO 🇵🇹Yesterday, on Christmas Eve, we went back to the place where our love for our new country really hit of. Brought some hot chocolate, oranges and cookies for a “Swedish fika” while listening to the ocean. It was sunny, very windy and the waves were as always lovely to follow.
