2021-07-18 N O S U N 🇵🇹I always enjoy the ocean, no matter the weather, and yesterday’s company of @travellingfortea made the day perfect despite the absence of the sun at the coast.

2021-07-13 S A T I S F A C T I O N B I G T I M ETomatoes from the garden, dried in the sun (no not the oven!) and spiced with dried thyme, also from the garden. Unfortunately I don’t have my own olive oil yet, but at least it is from Alentejo.This is very big satisfaction for me. Planting the seeds. Give them nutrition and water. Look at them every day to see how they are doing. Yes I do even talk to them sometimes. 🍅🍅🍅

2021-07-12 G A R D E N W O R K The renovation inside the house is done. Still want to fix some decorations, but that can wait. Now we are working in the garden. A small wall to stop the parking to flood away when heavy rain is coming. Also preparing for a garage in the future when we at it. Geo textile and gravel on our driveway. Some nice gravel (brita) and stones in the kitchen garden. Cleared an area for several new raised beds.

2021-07-09 B Y E B Y E V E G AToday she rolled away, happy to be on the road again. She approved the new owners so we gave them the keys. And waved good bye to them all this morning after they spent the night in our garden. I am looking forward to another type of travelling now after more than 1000 nights in a row on wheels.

2021-07-07 W O R K I N G W I T H A V I E W 🇵🇹It’s lovely to work on our balcony. Just lifting my eyes over the computer and the peace fills my body and mind. It’s a lot of bureaucracy moving to a new country so I combine my digital work for our clients with filling in forms and reading the fine prints.

2021-06-30 I N T E R I O R D O O R S ✔️Have you ever thought about living in a house with no interior doors at all? We like open plan solutions so we have found solutions instead of problems these 7 weeks we’ve been living in our house. But I must say I have longed for the bathroom door. And now the three doors are assembled in the bathroom, the main bedroom and the guest room. All in oak. We are soon finished with the indoor renovation and most of the furniture will probably be in place this week. Almost exactly 5 months after we got the keys.

2021-06-27 F O O D 🇵🇹It’s growing in my garden, this and much more. Satisfying to tender and watering the plants every evening. Today I also gave some of them #bokashi water full of nutrients. 🫑🌽🍈🍅

2021-06-21 I N A S M A L L C A R ❤️After three years in big vehicles I finally again can put my hand on @roger_on_wheels when he’s driving. Something I’ve been doing since we met, 24 years ago. Missed this. 😍

2021-06-19 L I S B O N 🇵🇹Yesterday we finally got our leasing car. Went to #lisboa to pick it up. Due to new restrictions in that area we did not explore anything, but at least we saw the #vascodagamatower nearby. And since I find buildings and architecture interesting of course this picture was taken. Now when we live in Portugal we can visit the capital city anytime.

In words: the coastlines, the Atlantic, the people, the history, the climate, the villages, the tiles… etc. Looking forward to get to know this country and it’s people more!

2021-06-14 I A M H A P P Y Are you? For new followers I thought it was time to post an image of myself. I don’t fancy feeds with a lot of selfies but I want to know who I am following. So here I am. 2021-06-12 J A C A R A N D A 🇵🇹Went into #ourique the other day and saw this lovely flowering jacaranda. And the glacier underneath it :)

2021-06-11 O U R T E N A N T S. 🇵🇹Or maybe we are their tenants. Anyway we share this piece of land with a lot of animals. Love lizards so are very happy that this couple (?) live just below our balcony so we can see them often. Could be the Timon lepidus, Ocellated Lizard, Pärlödla. Could be a male and a female. These are probably not that old, they can be 90 cm long. I hope they like it here and want to co-exist with us on this beautiful place. They are also most welcome to eat every mosquito they can find. I have read that they might will eat crop in the garden but I haven’t seen any of that yet.

2021-06-09 S O U N D O F S I L E N C E Just had lunch on our balcony with this view. Everyday we are amazed about the tranquility here. This is perfect for us!

2021-06-05 K I T C H E N ✔️Today we did the final touches to the kitchen. I am so happy with layout, function and design. And today I have made a curry of our own zucchini, served with rice and peanuts. Also baked 24 pcs of my gluten-free breakfast bread and a chocolate cake. And of course done all the dishes :) Tonight I have prepared for making hard bread in the morning, all according to @chatrine_sl recipe. Have also picked coriander and salad in the garden and stored for tomorrow’s breakfast. Now I will make our evening snack, a frozen strawberry smoothie. I really enjoy my kitchen as you can see :)

2021-06-02 A N O T H E R C A C T U S 🇵🇹Missed the flowering on this one, but I think they are still beautiful, would love to try the fruit. We have one of these cactuses on our property, a bit hidden behind the old geese house. On a field within our view the farmer have a lot of these plants. So knowledge is near :)

2021-05-30 W E H A V E A S O F A! For three years we haven’t been able to just through ourselves into a sofa. The sofas in our motorhomes have not been that comfortable. Now we have a sofa we both can lay down in, together, and watch a movie or just cuddle.

2021-05-28 D I N N E R T I M ENot much potatoes from the garden, due to the heavy clay. But happy for what I got. And today nothing can take away my smile. Boiling the fresh potatoes on the new stove in the kitchen I designed is a great satisfaction! Also made coleslaw and fried halloumi. Wish you a great weekend!

2021-05-26 A green smoothie was the first meal I made in the new kitchen! Water, fridge, freezer, stove and oven is working. All cupboards and the the bench is in place. Next step is the tiles over the bench and the kitchen fan. Then we can start using the stove and make all kinds of food! I have longed for a fresh smoothie in the warm (30°Cj weather so this was a perfect celebration lunch in the shadow on the veranda. Dinner may be roasted veggies in the oven … #nomnom

2021-05-21 M Y P R E C I O U S 🧄 One of the most important crops. Garlic. Of course the heavy clay soil has not been good and unfortunately the unions is full of leak worms. But not all. And those I have hurried to get up so we at least can enjoy to be self sufficient on garlic. Next year they will be planted in my raised beds and hopefully grow big and without worms

2021-05-18 C A S T R O V E R D E 🇵🇹A visit to the dentist in Castro Verde. Taking the possibility to enjoy new streets and areas. At least during the walk between the car and the dentist. Pigs in the roundabout here also, not only in Ourique.
